FUSION BOMB UNVEIL ALBUM DETAILS!

Recorded at the Holtz Sound Studios in Tuntange (Luxembourg) by the band itself, 'Concrete Jungle' has been mixed and mastered by US based producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who is known for his excellent work for bands alike Municipal Waste, Revocation or Hatebreed. The result is a timeless piece of aural assault that sounds so fierce and brutally fresh, as it can only be the natural follow-up to the band's 2016-debut EP 'Pravda'.

Luxembourg, anno 2010, just when puberty truly struck and thrash metal has been the bee’s knees, FUSION BOMB went through nuclear fission and the band saw the light of day. Puberty has mostly faded, but passion and dedication have stayed. As it's tradition, the first few years were spent with jamming and drinking beer together, before the work on the band's first EP 'Pravda' started. Due to FUSION BOMB's interest in the history of the Soviet Union, they chose it as the central lyrical and musical theme for their first output.

A dimostrazione che anche la scena dei paesi dell’ex Jugoslavia sa offrire gruppi molto validi arrivano questi Side Effects, provenienti da Zagabria e giunti al decimo anno di attività. Leader della band è il cantante e chitarrista Ivan Mihaljevic, che ricopre anche il ruolo di unico compositore (non è un caso che i precedenti lavori siano usciti a nome Ivan Mihaljevic & Side Effects). In patria sono molto conosciuti, anche grazie alla loro intensa attività live, che li ha visti supportare artisti come Richie Kotzen, Paul Gilbert e addirittura Whitesnake.

Dopo alcuni anni di silenzio discografico, dovuti anche a qualche cambio di line-up, i nostri tornano con questo Descending Rabbit Holes, un ottimo lavoro di heavy rock moderno, influenzato dal class metal ma anche dall’alternative metal e dagli Alter Bridge.

Brani come “Don’t Contradict The Facts” o “Colourblind” si fanno apprezzare per l’energia profusa e per le linee melodiche, sempre lontane dalla banalità. Il leader è dotato di una voce d’acciaio, di un indiscutibile talento chitarristico e in questo lavoro suona anche molte parti di basso, ma non bisogna dimenticare la bravura del batterista Alen Frljak e del nuovo arrivato Petar Stojko. “In The Shadow Of A Crumbled Fort” e “Scratching The Surface” hanno una struttura più articolata e mostrano qualche influenza progressive, apprezzabile anche la delicata ballad “Hideout” e il class metal ruffiano di “The Siren Song”.

Anni di gavetta hanno dato i loro frutti, Descending Rabbit Holes è un lavoro maturo e pienamente riuscito.

OREYEON SIGNS WITH HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS RECORDS!

Heavy Psych Sounds Records&Booking is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Italian stoner rockers OREYEON!

Formed in 2014 by members of such as Woodwall, Mexican Mud or Army of Angry Youth, Oreyeon made a first impressing impact on the heavy rock scene with their debut 'Builders of Cosmos' released back in 2016. The band's inspirations come from various kinds of the heavy music genre, but especially they find their roots in the glories of Black Sabbath, melting with hints of metal and mixing the classic stoner rock such as acts alike Texas' stoner heavyweights The Sword. Monolithic guitars, huge bass frequencies, melodic and complex vocals, Oreyeon know how to please every classic and stoner rock mind!

On their second album and the debut on Heavy Psych Sounds, Oreyeon try to move away from the usual stoner rock clichès into a more elaborate and melodic style. The vocal structures and harmonizations are definetely more complex, rich of melodies while the music tends towards a heavier path, taking cues from way different kinds of genres and band references. „HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS Records decided to sign Oreyeon for the next album, that we can assure will be extraordinary!“ says label CEO Gabriele Fiori.

E’ un suono molto particolare quello che propongono i The Ghost And The Machine, band austriaca giunta al secondo lavoro. Si autodefiniscono post-blues, etichetta dietro cui si nasconde un suono che attinge al folk, al jazz, all’alternative e all’indie rock. Del blues come generalmente viene inteso, quello del Delta, non ne troviamo traccia.

Tutto l’album verte su atmosfere raffinate e intime, a volte un po’ malinconiche, che nella loro particolarità riescono comunque ad essere facilmente fruibili e certamente non ostiche.  In particolare “Dirty Mind”, con il suo feeling un po’ alla R.E.M.,  potrebbe funzionare anche come singolo, se adeguatamente spinto.

Episodi apparentemente rilassati come “Blue Day / Yellow City” o “Caroline” hanno in realtà una tensione che striscia sotto pelle,  il sognante folk di “Falling” e le influenze jazz di “Passengers & Salves” sono dimostrazioni di talento e di creatività, le parti strumentali sono avvolgenti e gli arrangiamenti sono minimali ma efficaci. Mandolino e armonica a bocca impreziosiscono il pop rock evoluto di “Complex Animal”, si sente anche un po’ di country nella ballata crepuscolare “Wreck Of Innocence”, mentre “Scars” regala atmosfere oscure di indubbio fascino. 

Red Rain Tires non è un album indicato a chi cerca adrenalina e scosse elettriche, è musica introversa, notturna e poetica.

Non è la prima volta che i MISERY LOVES CO realizzano delle cover indimenticabili, basti citare "Complicated Game" (XTC) presente sull’album "Not Like Them" e "The Drowning Man" (THE CURE), suonata la scorsa estate allo Sweden Rock Festival.
