L’ultimo disco dei Luca Turilli’s RHAPSODY, “Prometheus, Symphonia Ignis Divinus”, è il primo studio album ad essere remixato in Dolby Atmos nella storia della musica.
“Prometheus, The Dolby Atmos Experience + Cinematic And Live” verrà pubblicato il 9 dicembre da Nuclear Blast/Warner e contiene anche due CD dal vivo con canzoni registrate durante il tour Ascending To Infinity e Prometheus Cinematic Tour per un totale di oltre 120 minuti di musica dei RHAPSODY!

Scott Gorham dichiara: "Stiamo indubbiamente trovando il nostro sound personale. Per cinque anni abbiamo portato in giro i Thin Lizzy, quindi ci abbiamo messo un po’ a rodarci e a trovare la nostra strada. Ognuno ha la propria individualità e componiamo tutti in maniera diversa, quindi è inevitabile venirsene fuori con un suono diverso. E questo è ciò che abbiamo fatto con questo album”.

Probabilmente in molti ricorderanno che, appena prima della pubblicazione di “Carolus Rex”, la formazione dei Sabaton venne letteralmente rivoluzionata. I due chitarristi, il batterista e il tastierista infatti abbandonarono la band per formare questi Civil War insieme al cantante Nils Patrik Johansson e al bassista Stefan Eriksson.
Giunti al terzo album, i Civil War stanno pian piano acquisendo la loro identità, anche se rimangono ancora parecchi punti di contatto con la band madre. Ascoltando l’epic metal trionfale della title-track e il power di scuola Rainbow di “A Tale That Should Never Be Told” è impossibile non pensare a “Carolus Rex”. D’altro canto ci sono anche episodi lontanissimi dai Sabaton come “Tombstone”, un divertente speed metal carico di humor nero o “Savannah” che con il suo chorus orecchiabilissimo mi ha ricordato parecchio i sottovalutati Axxis.
Diciamo che The Last Full Measure è un lavoro più variegato e complessivamente più incisivo rispetto all’ultimo Sabaton (tra l’altro pubblicato da pochissime settimane), che invece puntava molto su chorus ruffiani e di facile presa. “Road To Victory” e “Deliverance” sono buoni esempi di heavy metal epico-sinfonico, caratterizzati da ritmi sostenuti e dalla voce particolare di Johansson (una specie di Ronnie James Dio dal timbro graffiante e nasale). Decisamente riuscito anche il mid tempo epico di “America” la rocciosa “Gangs Of New York” e lo speed helloweeniano “Gladiator”.
Senza inventare nulla di nuovo i Civil War sfornano un buon lavoro di power metal, privo di brani indimenticabili ma anche senza cadute di tono.
Gli Stoner Rockers italiani MARS ERA rivelano copertina, tracklist e primo singolo tratto dal loro imminente album “Dharmanaut”, un lavoro fatto di sonorità che spaziano dal Desert Rock al Progressive Alternative Metal di matrice statunitense.
DHARMANAUT è un concept album basato sui dialoghi dei due protagonisti, che rappresentano lo Ying e lo Yang, la cui storia viene narrata canzone dopo canzone dando vita a uno script cinematografico basato su atmosfere metafisiche e trascendenti.

“Its done and dusted, fuel up the bus and stock the fucking fridge with beer I’m ready to tour”, Ran from Aussie stoner rock blues band Zombie Motors Wrecking Yard is chomping at the bit, along with the whole Zombie crew, ”I just think this album spits and lurches with Aussie rock, and Europe and USA are going to fucking love it.” A year in the making, countless hydroponic crops and slabs of booze, a few naked breasts and a fight or two and “Super Sonic Rock n Roll” is ready to unleash.
“Its not just one speed, its not just stoner rock or dirty blues, its what we like, and what we write at the time, fuck, the next album could be saxophone ballads for all we know, Kenny fucking G!” While highly doubtful any of this lot can play a wind instrument, the unpredicatble is the only thing you can count on. “Stick us on a stage and we will win em over, through abuse and love, its one and the same, i fucking love you, i fucking hate you…now give me a hug.”
Right up to a month before completion the Zombie crew were writing new tracks to add to the album, the first two tracks fresh out of Marc n Dazz’s vault of riffs, and along with Producer Gavin Parker the mixing and recording didn’t stop until the day before the masters were sent off to Napalm Records. “Man we nearly punched on countless times getting this out of our heads, we didn’t speak for 3 weeks once we finished, just so we didn’t kill each other.” “But now, we are back into it, and cannot wait to get stuck into some video clips, and get on tour both here in Australia and Europe and America!”
